    A well-established week-long event for published SF
writers, run by writers, for writers. Situated in an idyllic location in the Snowdonia National Park, between 9 and 15 writers gather for a week to workshop their manuscripts. There are no teachers and no students. Neither is it an elitist in-group, however much fun that would be. Invitations are extended to authors from all over the world. Some may have sold only a single story, others barely recall what a rejection slip look like. The minimum qualification for attending Milford is a single fiction sale to a paying market.

The format is challenging and exhausting, with much hard work being done; but convivial, with much sitting around and talking about hard work. In short, it's a social as well as a literary event.

There is free time in the mornings for reading, critting, writing or lallygagging. Three to five manuscripts will be discussed each afternoon. Thorough but constructive crits are encouraged and time is limited to give everyone a fair chance. Post crit discussions often occur into the
    evening social time.

There's full-board accommodation. See the website for details: www.milfordsf.co.uk
